When the woman lets Huck walk into the shack i was wondering why she eyed him suspiciously and why Huck introduced himself as "Sarah Williams." After Huck ran away I wonder why they suspected Pap killed him. Just because he was the closet person to him doesn't mean that he would kill him. Like its his own dad and i don't think a lot of parents would kill their kids purposely. I was also wondering why Huck would go onto the wreck and try to loot it or whatever. It seems to me that the risk would outweigh the benefits from doing that. Why would Huck feel bad for the robbers and send the ferry to go help them? If Huck was a true robber/murderer himself he wouldn't care about them at all and wouldn't send that ferry to go help them.
Huck finally leaves to get Jim and start down river so the men won't find him. A few days go by when they come across a wrecked boat, together they decide to venture in and collect any money they may find. He over hears two men bickering on how to murder a man without feeling so guilty. He rushes to land and tells a watchman an elaborate story to convince him to help the others. I feel as though Huck is beginning to become a little more like his friend Tom Sawyer as Huck takes on new adventures. Often Huck talks to himself and ask himself, what would Tom do?
In these chapters, one of the only things I really took away from these is that Huck and Jim are trying to survive. I really think that its cool that Jim and Huck are really close. As i read through the chapters, I see how close Huck and JIm are getting. I really thought that it was not okay for whites and blacks to be friends during this time period but I think it is really cool that they both dont care and are becoming really good friends.
